Tamás Moldvay interprets Spinoza’s 12th letter to Mayer. In this letter Spinoza explicates his tenets about the infinite in a concise form. Moldvay concentrates primarily on the image that Spinoza uses to illustrate his idea of the incommunicability of the infinite mathematically. Moldvay explicates the idea of this mathematical incommunicability by relying on the notion of extended substance in Descartes’s physics.
